Forty years ago (1974) Alice Jitterbug, an iconic example of transformation and metamorphosis, visited the National Gallery of Victoria and was mistaken for Germaine Greer. This year Her Divine Holiness Pope Alice recognized the courageous exploits of Alice Jitterbug and her contribution to sexual liberation, femininity and freedom of self-expression by canonizing Ms Jitterbug in a ceremony in the Great Hall of the National Gallery. See:

Luke Roberts, Alice Jitterbug’s mentor and confidante was a final year student at the Queensland College of Art in 1974. During the opening night of the QCA Showcase (Thursday, 27 November) HDH Pope Alice will acknowledge QCA and these significant milestones by presenting a continuation of her undertaking ‘Walking to the New Jerusalem.’ Don’t miss it!
